Grim Natwick was born on August 16, 1890 and died at the age of 100. He was born and raised in Wisconsin Rapids, but left to attend Chicago's Art Institute in 1910.

Before becoming an animator, Grim drew the cover for the first Lincoln High School yearbook, and designed covers for Consolidated News. He drew comic strips and was persuaded to try animation, which he initially loathed.

After studying in Vienna, Mr. Natwick worked for both Fleischer Studios and Walt Disney Studios. He worked on Betty Boop, Mr. Magoo, Gulliver's Travels, and Snow White.

Our museum exhibit features over 70 original drawings from both before and after Grim Natwick found fame, including family portraits, drawings of famed cartoon characters, and famous commercial characters. We also have items on loan from local Betty Boop collectors.
