The South Wood County Historical Museum would like to provide links to the following sites:
A collection of rural Wisconsin photos taken mid-20th century by
Lawrence Oliver of Vesper, Wisconsin:
The 'Krohnographs' we have proudly displayed for the last two summers were a
success and many of the photos can still be found on display within the Museum
as well as on our website. Within that collection were a group of pictures
taken by Lawrence Oliver. Despite the photos being taken during the same time
frame, the Oliver pictures focus more on the scenic portrayal of the area.
Wisconsin Heritage Online has taken on the challenge of inspiring education and
discovery of Wisconsin by offering an outlet to organizations to display a
variety of digital collections. WHO has given us the opportunity to share our
Oliver photos on their website which is hosted by the Milwaukee Public Library.
In addition to the numerous photos in the May 2010 issue of Artifacts, the
complete group of pictures will be available to view on the WHO website and
within the Museum. If you recognize anyone or anything in these photos and can
offer us information, please feel free to contact Lori, at the Museum. Your
assistance is always welcomed.
